To run multiple instance of Practice 2000 on the system, each connected to a separate database:
- Close Practice 2000 on the local computer
- Make a copy of the Practice 2000 folder (C:\Practice) to another folder on the C drive (ie. C:\PracticeSecond)
- Create a new short cut on the desktop to point to the Practicesql.mde file on the new folder (ie. C:\PracticeSecond\practicesql.mde)
- Start Practice 2000 using the newly created shortcut
- On the Main form, go to Admin Tasks > Advanced > Database Objects then type ParamsLocal and click OK
- Insert a new parameter called PracticeFolder with a value set to the name of the newly created folder ie. PracticeSecond
- Close Practice 2000 and restart it using the newly created shortcut. The system will now ask for the database to connect to, browse to the second database that you wish to connect to and click OK
